The process of how black and white film roll works in displaying pictures is very interesting and multiple steps. In the development of pictures from black and white film roll you must first place the film in a solution that is a reducing agent, the silver ions in the photograph get turned into silver metal, with perfect temperature control this process is shown best. After this first step is done the film is next washed in water, this primes the film for the next step which is putting it in the "fixer" this gets rid of all unexposed silver crystals that purify the pictures. The next and final couple steps is to wash film and then let it dry. You now have a processed film roll. This was much simpler for photojournalists, coming a long way from drawing out the message they were trying to show (M4 'before there were pixels pt 1, 3:37).
B.
I think the invention deeply influenced photojournalism due to the convenience of picture storage. War photographers were easily able to stay out in the field longer and take more pictures, better pictures (M4 'before there were pixels pt 1, 3:10) photographers in the civil war did not have easy access tog taking pictures. More opportunity to influence and take more meaningful pictures compared to using 'wet plates' which took a long time to reload the camera then you would have to store these glass plates somewhere (M4 'before there were pixels pt 1, 6:37). The Great Depression also was an iconic moment in time for black and white film roll, used primarily and has the accomplishment of being used for some of the most influential photojournalism moments of all time. Each picture during these events could tell a story, just as said in (M4 'before there were pixels pt 1, 2:09).

- Jackson Jaguars playing in New York against the Buffalo Bills.
- The Jaguars are on defense with the Bills taking a first down snap in the 4th quarter leading by 27.
- Picture taken September 23th, 2024
- Taken in Springfield Massachusetts.
- This photo is important because it shows more confirmation to a denying fanbase that one of the highest rated prospects of this decade is not who they thought they were. Every year some teams throw everything in on getting a 1st overall pick in attempt to get generational talent, some fail, few succeed. This is one of those moments where you can see ''failure", it is very sad to see, potential turned out to be just 'hype'. People falling short of goals.
D.
Today almost everyone has a high resolution camera in their pocket or within arms reach at all moments, there is rarely a moment in time nowadays that isn't captured by some sort of camera. Back then during times of black and white film roll, cameras were expensive and not easy accessible. I feel pictures then were looked at more sacredly because of this, they might have held a lot higher influence than today. Technically depending on the picture anyone could be considered a photojournalist, back then its really wasn't that simple.
